Where The Horizon Ends

As time continues to pass for him, the more weight he loses and the less energy he has to spare. However, still to proud to admit to himself that his health is declining, whenever he feels the smallest boost in his energy he will go off on long lonely walks, burning even more of his reserve fat and muscle mass in the process instead of trying to preserve it.


Honestly, this was not in my to-do list for the month. I wanted to pratice trees and went on to doodle some very loosely to see if I could finally get the shapes right. But then it begun to flow on I just went all the way in and finished it.

Strangely enough, this image turned out to be one, if not the, most meaningful image I have created, at least to myself. It is so simple and plain at a first - and second look, but then you see (I hope) that there is a wide world to explore behind that hill. That is much like Oruz himself. An obvious truth be told, he is a lonely wolf, he had no say in the way he was born; without the ability to feel empathy and very much all other emotions in their wide spectrums. The world is a mystery to him, the behaviors of others of his kind just don't make sense to him, and he spends his life trying to figure out the puzzle. To simply believe that the other wolves are the mutant ones is a much easier path to take instead of facing the truth that he is the black sheep.
(Though, I don't think he would have the ability to see that reality even if he tried... Which he most likely never will. Not because he is dumb, he isn't, but I think in order to achieve such realization he would need both emotion and reason, and he only has reason.)
