Both Ranna and Oruz had lived through several Winters in their lifetimes. The season itself did not trouble them at all. They were quite used to the stripping of the trees and the growing biting cold. They were familiar with snow, it's delicacy and strength, and they did not fear the prospect of a harsh hunting season. They had lived through winter before and they would live through it again.
But this time, there was Mosrael. The tiny little puppy nestled at Ranna's side did not know what winter was. When she first opened her eyes, she would see a blanket of white upon the ground, and she would never know that the world had ever been different. She would be filled with the innocence of a newborn, too young to know what horrors had come before her birth, too young to know how cruel and dangerous her new world could be. The past few months had driven a wedge between Oruz and Ranna, but the frail little puppy united them, for now at least. Oruz was still too weak to survive alone, and Ranna would now need his help and support to watch the child when she hunted. They were stuck with one another at least for now, set to see through a winter as a broken and disjointed family, rather than alone.
And Astarael? She blinked in the sky above them, never faltering.

This is a collaboration between myself, halloumicheese and Wulfghast! I sketched the characcters, Wulf lined, Loomi colored, shaded and boxed in the BG, Wulf then went back in to re-touch the lineart, and then me again to finish up the background and add highlights to the characters! This happens about three-four days after Mosrael's birth (read it here) and also counts for all of the character's MSE's.

I just want to say that I really enjoy your artwork and style and I think it's really stunning. I enjoy the expressions of your drawings and how perfect the color, shading and lighting is everything just looks so nice and I'll be spamming that favorite button.
